Building Elements

The following articles, and in fact the whole engineering section, are intended to show some of the interesting complexities to be considered when designing everyday building elements and structural systems.  Based on personal experience accumulated over 35 years of practice, they were written on wet Sundays, and are not intended to be complete statements of design objectives, building methods or up-to-date practice or code requirements of any of the elements discussed.  To get these you will need to consult us in a professional capacity!  You should not try to build any of these things relying only on the information herein and I will accept no responsibility if you do.
